Volunteer Befriending

The befriending scheme offers companionship for older people who are unable to get out of the home.

What is a Volunteer Befriender?

 Volunteer Befriending is a weekly or fortnightly one hour visit by a volunteer to an older person in their home for conversation.

 

Who can receive a Befriender?

 A person aged 60+ who is a member of BIEWA  and is feeling isolated but will find it difficult to attend a group activity.

 

How does someone get a Befriender?
